Adrian Jeans at Metal
Adrian Jeans, a local sculptor from Kensington, is currently working in the studio space at Edge Hill Station, developing a sculpture project called 'The Craft of Art'. Adrian has decided to open up his usually private process of modelling, moulding, and casting into a public performance and a documentary photography project. The work comprises of two identical plaster casts of a life-sized and life-modelled human figure posed on a pile of building rubble taken from the on-going demolition/regeneration of the Kensington area in Liverpool. Added to each figure is a symbolic object (an AK47 assault rifle and a butterfly emerging from a chrysalis respectively) in order to create allegories for the two contrasting ideas of Death & Destruction and Life & Creation.
