The "Love padlocks" on Cologne's Hohenzollern bridge are very intriguing for those walking past, or when viewed from the trains which sometimes stop while waiting for platform space at the main station.
The company that operates the Hohenzollern bridge threatened to have the padlocks removed but had to back down in the face of huge public opposition.
