Ceri Hand Gallery. It was not my first experience to visit Ceri Hand Gallery, I been there before.
Ceri Hand –are brilliant art talker and presenter!
I always admire her ability and talent to speak very confident and beautifully about art.
I am absolutely not agree with her about “it is doesn’t matter the location of gallery space”(Ceri Hand)
It is very important matter in my opinion.
I was talking with girls from my group a lot about future and we all are dreaming about: “to win lottery and get own art gallery”, I don’t think I will buy that kind of space without arty bar and cafeteria space for public and without properly heating when it is cold outside. Never.
The similar(?) – art gallery or exhibition space is A-Foundation. The similar only because there are extremely cold in the winter too. I like more A-Foundation anyway. I understand – A-Foundation have get founding from Art Council and from other organization and work mostly for community art projects but anyway somehow I dislike Ceri Hand Gallery.
Once I been there with my husband, just like regular visitors from outside not like group of students with tutor from local uni, we came to see Bedwyr Williams “Nimrod” exhibition in 2009.
Nobody wanted to talk or explain or welcome as.
Never mind…
When, after 15 minutes ringing doorbell, we entered building – inside was smell like from not-so-much clean public toilet. Probably it is OK…
Is it OK?
Probably it was because of newly refurbishing from long staying abandoned space…or something wrong with canalization…
Never mind….It was my first impression only.
Visit to the galleries is part of our learning process and particularly for experience and knowledge to present “Imaginary Exhibition Proposal”
How today’s visit will help me with my proposal?
I don’t know yet.
Eve – want to do subject “Victorian Porno”. Probably she will be art theory inventor! New subject in History of art – “Victorian Porno”!
Beverly – wanted to do “Fairies” but she changed her mind and now she researching new subject.
Barbara want to do huge – blockbuster, Victorian paintings exhibition but she don’t know yet about subject, she still not sure.
For me group gave my task – advertisement and promotion of imaginary exhibition and I should wait till girls decided about venue and subject. So I will wait then.
