Born in Vienna. After graduating from a textile art school in Vienna, she worked as a graphic designer and art director for a design company and an advertising agency. She moved to New York in 1994, and after working as a design director, she started to focus on illustration. Since 1997, she has been active as an illustrator. Her work done for the cover of New York Times Style Selection in 1997 was awarded a silver prize in the category of Society of Newspaper Design, as well as a Distinctive Merit Award. Appreciation of her award-winning carrier includes Award of Excellence by Communication Arts in 2000 and 2001. She was featured in Fashion Illustration Now (published by Thames & Hudson) as well as in the Sept/Oct issue of Communication Arts in 2001. In 2004, Pucci Mannequin started to sell mannequin characters design by Anja. She lives in Soho of New York City, with her husband and two cute daughters. Her lifestyle has been featured in American magazines. She was selected as one of the mature and sexy sophisticated women in NYC, for the April 25 issue of a Japanese magazine Croissant.
