tree huggers

The size and scale of the festival is impossibly huge!
the numbers of people that attend are equivalent to the totality of city as Liverpool debunking to a farm and setting up a village of canvas. Glastonbury is super-enormous.
with over 50 stages and 1000’s of performers everyone’s Glastonbury will be very different, but one thing is assured; no matter how much rain, mud, sunburn, or hot spiced cider induced hangovers you incur, Glastonbury will leave you with more memories, more moments of life affirming goodness than you could ever have just going to gigs and concerts
Here’s just a few stats to give you some idea of the massive scale we are talking about:-
  • Area of Site – 1,100 acres (that's the equivalent of more than 500 football pitches)
  • Length of Fence - 8 miles
  • Number of Stages - at least 60!
  • Number of Catering outlets - Nearly 500
  • Number of Toilets - Over 4,300 cubicles & 700 metres of urinals
  • Number of Rubbish Bins – 17,000
  • Number of Punters' Tents - 76,000
  • Number of Tickets Sold - 137,500
  • Total Site Capacity - 177,500 (children under 13, police and officials not included), or to put it into perspective, the same population as a city the size of Norwich or Sunderland!!!
