Liverpool Discovers. Mary Bamber Sculpture

There was a large gathering of women on St George’s Plateau for International Women’s Day yesterday 8 March 2011.
The event was organised by Liverpool City Council to celebrate 100 years of the Day and as part of the year-long Liverpool City of Radicals. It also offered the opportunity to honour the many radical and influential Liverpool women featured in the Liverpool Discovers trail such as Mary Bamber, Bessie Braddock, Kitty Wilkinson and Eleanor Rathbone.
The event was lead by the Lord Mayor, Hazel Williams with songs from Notre Dame Girls School choir.
