Nicki McCubbing is based at the Bluecoat studios and has shown her work nationally and internationally. Her sculptures and installations appropriate 'low culture' objects she has found or bought from charity shops, car boot sales, ebay, joke shops and pound shops. Nicki's work references pop culture and personal memories and uses humour and playfulness to mask a dark underbelly. Her work combines glamour and horror and appeals to children as well as adults.
