Fashion without the waist

From 17 April 2011, Slottsholmen
After the First World War, grew a whole new clothing fashion forward. 1920 was a pivotal point and the ideal of women changed dramatically. The traditional female attributes, hair, breasts and waist lost in importance. Now we had instead to show their legs. The skirt ended at her knees, her hair was cut short and his chest flat.
Fashion without waist tells of 1920s women's fashion but also puts into fashion in a social, economic and cultural context. "The Roaring 20's" was a decade that included both unshakeable belief in the future and history's worst stock market crash. The exhibition includes a large number of 20th century clothing, both everyday and festive fashion, and a selection of paintings and sketches.
