Freshfield Squirrel Reserve, Liverpool

If you've never seen the rare red squirrel in the wild so this is an opportunity to enjoy to see them free in their natural habitat.
Formby beach is great, also as really well kept pine-wood reserve, there also can be seen - coal tit, great spotted woodpecker, goldcrest, nuthatch and treecreeper, cross-bill.
The best place to start in the reserve is the Squirrel Walk, which takes you through the areas the of the pine forest that the squirrels are most often seen in.

From Liverpool on the train is - about half an hour to Freshfield station.
